Appearance

Platform Support ​

lazyteams runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows. The experience is best on Linux.

Linux ​

Full support. Recommended terminals: any modern terminal emulator (GNOME Terminal, Alacritty, Kitty, etc.).

For clipboard image pasting (Ctrl+P), install one of:

  • wl-paste (Wayland): sudo apt install wl-clipboard
  • xclip (X11): sudo apt install xclip

macOS ​

Full support. The clipboard image paste feature (Ctrl+P) uses native macOS utilities and requires no additional installation.

Windows ​

Fully supported. The binary automatically enables ANSI/VT processing and UTF-8 code pages, meaning the UI renders correctly out-of-the-box in the standard Windows Command Prompt (cmd) and PowerShell.

However, Windows Terminal is still strongly recommended for full font support.

Known limitations on Windows:

  • Emoji reactions display as text labels ([Like], [Heart], etc.) instead of emoji characters unless using Windows Terminal.
  • Emoji characters in message content sent by other users may appear as empty squares (□) in standard PowerShell/cmd. This is a font limitation of those older terminal hosts.
  • The clipboard image paste feature (Ctrl+P) uses PowerShell internally and requires no additional installation.
