Disclaimer
This is an educational tool demonstrating Go concurrency, REST APIs, TUI design, and OS subprocess management.
What It Does
- Operates as a local utility over existing, officially acquired Microsoft Teams sessions.
- Uses only the official Microsoft Teams web protocol via browser-captured tokens.
- Does not distribute any proprietary Microsoft binaries or data.
What It Does NOT Do
- Does not circumvent DRM or licensing restrictions.
- Does not bypass authentication — requires a valid Microsoft Teams account.
- Does not scrape or store personal data beyond local token caching.
- Does not interact with Microsoft servers in any unauthorized manner.
Legal
Not affiliated with Microsoft Corporation or Microsoft Teams.
The Microsoft Teams API access is achieved through standard browser automation (Playwright) with user-provided credentials. All API calls made by LazyTeams are identical to those made by the official Teams web client.
Security Considerations
- Tokens are stored in plaintext at
~/.config/lazyteams/tokens.env. - No encryption of stored tokens.
- No certificate pinning or mTLS.
- The ChatSvc API is undocumented and may change without notice.
- Playwright browser session stores authentication cookies on disk.
